The Confederations Cup officially opened on 17 June in St. Petersburg. The opening ceremony was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino.
After the Grand opening of the Confederations Cup hosted the first match of the tournament between the teams of the Russian national Team and Team New Zealand, which the Russians won with a score of"2:0".
The matches of the Confederations Cup will be held in Moscow (Spartak stadium), St. Petersburg (stadium "Zenit arena"), Sochi (the stadium fischt") and Kazan (the stadium "Kazan arena"). The football tournament among the best teams in the world will last till July 2.
